The Washington Capitals are a professional ice hockey team based in Washington, D.C. The 2009-10 Washington Capitals won the franchise's first-ever Presidents' Trophy for the team with the most points at the end of the regular season. In 1975-76, Washington Capitals went 25 straight games without a win and allowed 394 goals en route to another horrendous record: 11-59-10 (32 points). The Washington Capitals finished the 2009-10 NHL season regular season first in the league
with 121 points and won the Presidents' Trophy.
