 Disclosing a tale of a vibrant group of suffragists whose fight for the 19th Amendment led them to build a meeting space to educate people on the important issues of the day. During completion of the Town Hall Theatre the 19th Amendment was passed, and on January 12, 1921 The Town Hall Theatre opened its doors and took on a double meaning: as a symbol of the victory sought by its founders, and as a spark for a new, more optimistic climate. If The Town Hall Theatre walls could talk they would relate stories about its part in the electrifying cultural history that has made up the fabric of New York City for more than 80 years. That space, which became The Town Hall, was designed by renown architects, McKim, Mead & White, to reflect the democratic principles of the League. Box seats were eliminated and no seats had an obstructed view giving birth to the term NOT A BAD SEAT IN THE HOUSE.

Federal Trade Commission To Scrutinize DRM
Ars Technica reports that the FTC is getting ready to take a hard look at gaming DRM, setting up a town hall meeting to be held on March 25th. They're currently recruiting panelists, and they say the meeting will, in part, ''address the need to improve disclosures to consumers about DRM limitations.'' The controversy over DRM came to a head in 2008 with the release of Spore and the multiple subsequent class-action lawsuits focusing on the SecuROM software that came with the game. Ars Technica says the town hall meeting will also look at ''legal issues surrounding DRM'' and ''the potential need for government involvement to protect consumers.'' of this story at Slashdot.
