Merriweather Post Pavilion, named for cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, is an outdoor concert venue located among Symphony Woods, a 40-acre lot of preserved land that sits in the heart of the planned community of Columbia, Maryland. Jimmy Buffett has played MPP more than any other artist, over 40 times. Jackson Browne recorded portions of Running on Empty at Merriweather Post Pavilion. The Eagles recorded a live album at Merriweather Post Pavilion in 1977. On June 20th of 2000, Britney Spears opened her Oops!... I Did It Again World Tour at the Merriweather Post Pavilion.
