The next year, with the lethal combination of O'Neal and Hardaway, the Orlando Magic became a dominant team in the NBA, compiling the first 50 win season in franchise history with a 50-32 record. With the first overall pick of the 1992 draft, the Orlando Magic selected big-man Shaquille O'Neal from Louisiana State University.
