Soundgarden Information

Soundgarden is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1984 by singer Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto. Soundgarden is currently working on a new album, which is slated for release in the spring of 2012. Soundgarden's origins can be found in a band called The Shemps, which performed around Seattle in the early 1980s, and featured bassist Hiro Yamamoto and drummer and singer Chris Cornell. On November 26, 2010, (Black Friday) Soundgarden released a special edition Record Store Day Black Friday 7-inch vinyl called The Telephantasm for independent record stores.
