Getting tickets for Ringling Brothers Circus is one the greatest moments in a child's life. The most famous circus in America is almost a rite of passage for many children. Clowns and high wire acts, trapeze artists and horseback riding tricks are all part of the wonder that is the circus. All three rings of activity are held together by a Ringmaster who guides them through a world that seems impossible to believe.
Starting February in the South, the Ringling Brothers Circus schedule takes them through Alabama, Georgia, South and North Carolina. They will arrive in Philadelphia on February 13. The circus comes to town in the Midwest over the summer and travels all over before the year is out.
Throughout the year, Ringling Brothers will arrive in almost every major city and lots of smaller towns. Check the circus' schedule and grab tickets now for a town near you.
The circus started in 1884 when five of seven Ringling Brothers, who were performers themselves, started their circus in Baraboo, Wisconsin. From there it grew until they acquired the Barnum and Bailey Circus from legendary showman, P.T. Barnum. The circus has been traveling around the country and the world ever since.
With multiple shows a day, the circus is unlike almost anything else in entertainment. Shows as early as 10:30 am make it possible for the circus' schedule to fit every family member's life, from 2 to 92.
Ringling Brothers Circus tickets are still a great value. A couple of hours of entertainment with the whole family for the cost of a decent dinner.
And don't forget to pick up souvenirs so that the kids can remember the day forever.
The Ringling Brothers Circus was a circus founded in the United States in 1884. Ringling Brothers Circus eventually joined with the Barnum & Bailey Circus to become Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, the Greatest Show on Earth. What distinguished the Ringling Brothers Circus from others was its honest and fair attitude toward the public. In 1889 two of the Ringlings went to Philadelphia where they purchased railroad cars and parade equipment from Adam Forepaugh, a venerable showman who had a show on the road since 1864. In 1907 the brothers purchased the Barnum & Bailey circus and ran the two circuses separately until they merged them into one unit in 1919 when they also moved the winter quarters to Sarasota, Florida.
