 Ravinia Festival is a not-for-profit organization that operates several music venues on their own parkland in Highland Park, Illinois. Ravinia has been the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1906. Ravinia was originally developed in 1904 as an amusement park and destination point on the Chicago and Milwaukee Electric Railroad, the park was at risk on the railroad's bankruptcy, and in 1911 local residents formed a corporation to purchase and operate the park.
