At the height of their fame, Oasis' 1997 third album Be Here Now reached #1 in the UK charts and also became the fastest selling album in chart history. Musically and lyrically, Oasis cite bands such as the British Invasion, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Kinks amongst their extensive influences as well as 1970s glam rock music. Oasis are a rock band originally formed in the Burnage area of Manchester, England. Oasis are led by brothers Noel Gallagher and the younger Liam Gallagher, who are the only remaining original Oasis members. Oasis have sold more than 50 million records worldwide. Thanks to the success of Oasis' critically acclaimed debut album Definitely Maybe and its 19 million selling follow-up, What's the Story Morning Glory?, Oasis became one of the most successful and prominent British bands of the mid-90s.
