The NFL playoffs are a single-elimination tournament held at the end of the 16-game regular season to determine the NFL champion. Currently, the Houston Texans, who joined the league as an expansion team in 2002, are the only NFL franchise that has never qualified for the NFL Playoffs. The first round of the NFL Playoffs is dubbed the Wild Card Playoffs (or Wild Card Weekend). Originally, the home teams in the NFL Playoffs were decided based on a yearly rotation.
