After the 1963 season, the New York Giants fell apart quickly, finishing 2-10-2 in 1964 and beginning an 18-season playoff drought. In the 2006 NFL Draft, the New York Giants used their first pick on Boston College DE Mathias Kiwanuka. It was these 1986 New York Giants that popularized the football tradition of dousing the head coach with a cooler of Gatorade near the end of a victorious game. The New York Giants are headquartered, train, and play their home games at Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in the suburb of East Rutherford, New Jersey. The New York Giants entered the 1986 season as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. The New York Giants have won four NFL Championships and two Super Bowls. The New York Giants made a decision to hire a General Manager following the 1978 season, to be responsible for building the on-field product.
