Elizabeth Clark Phair, born April 17, 1967, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist.  In 2003, Liz Phair's self-titled fourth album was released.  Liz Phair's most recent album, Somebody's Miracle, was released on October 4, 2005.  Liz Phair's second album, Whip-Smart, received much media attention and an advertising blitz.  Liz Phair began writing songs and recording homemade tapes under the name Girly Sound, while supporting herself by selling her drawings on the streets of Chicago.  Liz Phair emerged from Chicago, Illinois with her debut album, Exile in Guyville and became a critical success.  The album established Liz Phair's penchant for exploring sexually explicit lyrics such as in the song Flower.
