 John Edward McGee Jr., born October 19, 1969 in Glen Cove, New York, better known as John Edward, is a television personality and purported psychic medium. John Edward appears on the show Crossing Over with John Edward, in which he claims to communicate with the deceased relatives or friends of those in the gallery, or studio audience. John Edward is the producer host of the television show Crossing Over with John Edward featured on the SciFi Channel. John Edward was tested by psychologist Gary Schwartz, who concluded John Edward's abilities were genuine. Shortly after the 2001 World Trade Center Attacks, John Edward began filming a special in which he met with some relatives of the victims of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and would have tried to communicate with those who were killed. However, news of the show's filming spread through the media, sparking a national outcry.
