Floyd Mayweather Jr. (born Floyd Sinclair; February 24, 1977), is an American professional boxer. Floyd Mayweather Jr. had an amateur record of 84-6 and won national Golden Gloves championships in 1993 (at 106 lb), 1994 (at 114 lb), and 1996 (at 125 lb). Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought his first professional bout on October 11, 1996 against fellow newcomer Roberto Apodaca who was knocked out in round 2. On January 22, 2005, Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought against Henry Bruseles of Puerto Rico in a WBC junior welterweight title eliminator bout.
