Beastie Boys are an American hip hop trio from New York City. The Beastie Boys are one of the longest lived hip hop acts worldwide and continue to enjoy commercial and critical success in 2011, nearly 25 years after the release of their debut album. The Beastie Boys came together in 1979 as a hardcore punk band. The Beastie Boys recorded Licensed to Ill in 1986 and released the album at the end of the year. In June 2009 The Beastie Boys appeared at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival and performed the new single from the album titled "Too Many Rappers" alongside rapper Nas who appears on the track.
