New York City has lots of great small venues. The Beacon Theatre is legendary among them.

With only 2,894 seats, the Beacon Theatre is an intimate venue for any show or concert. The Beacon Theatre seating chart shows venue that is small and comfortable, designed with impeccable acoustics. The concert hall was built in 1929 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Beacon Theatre tickets have had the names of some of the greats of music printed upon them: the Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia and Michael Jackson. The Dalai Lama and former President Bill Clinton have chosen the Beacon for intimate events because of its perfect acoustics and classic design.

The 2013 Beacon Theatre schedule includes the Allman Brothers Band, which has missed playing the Beacon only one year since 1989. Also on the schedule are Yes, Brandi Carlile and Emmylou Harris.

Also, among the Beacon Theatre concerts this year is the legendary Diana Krall for one night only.

Beacon Theatre events for the year include the '70's Soul Jam, just in time for Valentine's Day, and Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth. For the kids there is Super WHY Live! And Scooby Doo Live! Musical Mysteries.

Designed by Chicago architect Walter W. Ahlschlager and opened in 1928, the 2,800-seat Beacon Theatre is a fantastic Art Deco treasure, built as silent pictures began talking and as vaudeville capitulated to the movie palace era.  The Beacon Theatre also often houses popular comedies geared toward African- American audiences, making it the favored Gotham stop along the Chitlin Circuit.  The Beacon Theatre has been recognized as a national landmark -- the interior remains legally protected from alteration and demolition -- the three-level auditorium is distinguished by 30-foot statues of Greek women on each side of the proscenium arch.  The Beacon Theatre hosts cutting-edge hardcore bands, gospel singers and world music superstars rock the town here as well.  The Beacon Theatre is located at 2124 Broadway in New York, NY.
